One of the last stills I’ll likely make with the Voigtlander 40mm pancake lens before I send it back to LensRentals.com on Thursday is of fellow graduate student Erin O’Neill, seemingly waiting for the day to end while sitting on the counter next to one of the light tables in the photo lab at the University of Missouri.

2nd Thirty Days – Day Nineteen

While trying to “recharge” with an iced coffee and kicking back with my feet up while sitting on the outdoor furniture on Ninth Street yesterday, I decided to have a little more fun with the Voigtlander 40mm “pancake” lens that I’ve been experimenting with over the past week (borrowed from lensrentals.com), and made this sequence of the cars going by. It’s definitely not framed as consistently as I would have liked, but I think it’s fun just the same.

Firmware 2.0.4 for Canon 5D II released

On the heels of the announcement of firmware 2.0.3, Canon haulted the distribution because of a relatively minor problem–audio couldn’t be recorded when using the Custom 1, Custom 2, or Custom 3 shooting modes.  A new firmware patch to 2.0.4 fixes this issue:

Broadway Update: Stephens Lake Take Two

On Thursday afternoon I headed back to Stephens Lake Park to continue “note taking” for an essay on the park that is right off of Broadway, yet feels almost like you’re immersed in nature in the middle of Columbia, Missouri.  I saw almost because the illusion fades when your boot gets stuck on the landscape fabric that’s underneath all of the pebbles on the side of the waterfalls…yeah, those were man-made.
